In the year 1996, Marine Craft Engineers Pvt. Ltd.(MCEPL) was incorporated under Register of Companies as a private limited company and with the merger of Marinecraft Engineers (MCE) is now known as (MEPL). Since MEPL has established a track record for quality resources and workmanship that has attracted the continued patronage of numerous national and foreign flag-carriers including the national carrier of Myanmar, Indian Navy and Coast Guard
MEPL’s specialized afloat repair team has a dedicated workforce, consisting of service engineers, supervisors and experienced technicians and a purpose built workshop to handle marine repairs and specialized work such as:

Blasting and Painting
Tail shaft, propulsion system, propeller, Gear box and CPP system
Underwater machineries , valves & pipelines
Structural repairs and modification
Main and auxiliary engine & turbine
Deck machine and Cargo Gear
Main and cargo pump
Hydraulic : testing, repairs & service
All kinds of Electric work including motor repairs & rewinding
Air conditioning , Refrigeration and insulation

Facilies
There are five dry docks, out of which three are in Kidderpore Dock and two are in Netaji Subhas Dock. The maximum sizes of the vessels that can be accommodated are given below:
