China Shipping Industry Co., Ltd. (abbreviated to "CIC") was founded in 1998 and is a subsidiary company of China Shipping (Group) Company. She is one of the important members of China Shipping Industry. Her main business consists of five parts – ship repair, shipbuilding, offshore engineering, yacht manufacture, and river and coastal shipping. She owns seven major shipyards and six specialized companies located in the Yangtze Delta and the Pearl River Delta, is renowned at home and abroad. With modern management and professional services, CIC has become strategic cooperation partners of many famous shipping companies all over the world.

After years of development, CIC has owned total dock capacity of about 850,000DWT, including one dock of 300,000DWT, one dock of 200,000DWT, four docks ranging from 40,000 to 80,000DWT, and four docks up to 40,000DWT for ship repair, as well as two graving docks of 1,000,000DWT, one graving dock of 80,000DWT and one slipway of 70,000DWT for shipbuilding. Presently, CIC has about 4,500 registered employees and 20,000 sub-contractor's workers, holds one team of management and special technique elite adaptable for the modern development of ship repair and shipbuilding.
